Overview
Pain is an area which crosses all specialities and sectors within pharmacy.
The UKCPA Pain Committee aims to improve the understanding of the core principles of managing pain in all areas of clinical practice as well as sharing their expertise on more specialist issues.
They have strong links with the British Pain Society and regularly provide their expertise to NICE guidelines and appraisals and at national conferences.
Achievements
Committee members work with various associations, societies, charities and groups in order to share their expertise to improve the care of patients.
The Committee respond to NICE consultations around pain management and pain medicines in order to ensure that pharmacy expertise is included within their guidelines.
Due to the wide remit of this area, the Committee often collaborate with other UKCPA Committees to deliver education and training.

Members who have a flair for writing to produce articles for Rx Magazine which is owned by UKCPA
