Highlights

Vibrant and thought provoking, our panel discussions will be a lively start to your day.

Our two discussions – the first on maximising the skills of new prescribing pharmacists, and the second on how to recruit and retain our pharmacy workforce - will feature expert speakers bringing a variety of viewpoints. We will be inviting questions from the audience and a facilitator will be on hand to help guide the discussion.

Our keynote speaker this year is Professor Kevin Fong.

You may recognise him from the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, BBC’s Horizon programme, Channel 4’s Extreme A&E, and BBC Radio 4’s Scott’s Legacy. Not only is he a Consultant in Anaesthesia at University College Hospital London, but also an astrophysicist, science and medical broadcaster, and a writer. Kevin will be talking about his insights into how people deal with working every day under pressure, stress and with high risk, and how they make the right calls and quickly learn from mistakes.

Our other speakers include Chief Pharmacists, Clinical Directors, Consultant pharmacists and academics. Take a look further down the page to see more detail of the amazing practitioners you can meet at the Conference.

We have four specialist workshops for you to choose from.

Two are focussed on the emerging area of genomics and how it is changing how we practice pharmacy. We will provide you with examples of current and future use and use clinical cases to explain the implementation of pharmacogenomics into practice and describe practical considerations when managing patients.

If gastroenterology and hepatology is your passion, then we have a one-stop-shop for what’s new in this area, including viral hepatitis, IBD and immunosuppression, iron deficiency and anaemia.

Or perhaps you’re intrigued by virtual wards and want to know more about them and how they work? We’ll show you different models and why they are successful, and how you can demonstrate the value of interventions within a virtual ward setting. We’ll also cover practical topics such as staffing structures, policies, training and supervision, as well as governance and collaborative solutions.

A long-standing and much-respected feature of our annual Conference

Our expert-selected works will showcase the excellence and innovation from amongst your peers. All our posters have been peer-reviewed prior to selection and it’s a great way to meet other practitioners from across the UK and take back ideas to implement in your own practice or workplace.

Do you have an important decision to make or a goal you would like to pursue?

Or do you feel stuck and would value guidance on your next professional steps? We will have a variety of coaches on hand to help you find clarity and inspiration. You’ll be able to choose a coach who has expertise in the area you’d like to discuss for a confidential one-to-one.

Catch up with old friends and make new ones

We know that meeting your peers for a chat over coffee or dinner is a unique feature of an in-person event and has been greatly missed in recent years. We’ve ensured that you’ll have plenty of time to do this - over 6 hours in fact! Throughout the Conference there will be fantastic opportunities to connect and socialise with friends, old and new.

Provided by our valued supporters

We are passionate about all sectors of pharmacy working together to improve patient care. Visit our pharmaceutical industry supporters to share your feedback on what products and services benefit your patients and practice, and to expand your knowledge about what’s on the market.

The perfect end to the day

As well as a buffet lunch, and refreshments and snacks throughout the day to keep your energy levels up, we’re also including a pre-dinner drinks reception and a three-course evening meal at the Conference venue. During the pre-dinner drinks we’ll be announcing our best abstract and best poster award winners.

Join us to relax after an inspiring day and celebrate clinical pharmacy.
